Dr. Somers, originally from Wisconsin, attended the University of Colorado School of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
After completing her Periodontal residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, she returned to Colorado and joined the practice of Orban, Silberman & Poulos in the summer of 1998. Just a few years after her arrival, she partnered with Dr. Michael Poulos, and has been skillfully restoring smiles and transforming lives for decades.
Dr. Somers is Board Certified in the practice of Periodontics. She is active in organized dentistry and is a member of the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society, the Colorado Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Southwest Society of Periodontics, and the American Academy of Periodontics.
When she isn’t in the office, Dr. Somers enjoys spending time with her husband, Curtis, their daughter, Carolyn and their Portuguese water dog, Domino. She loves Disney and the Nuggets, and also enjoys a good book or movie, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
Dr. Nick knew from a young age that he wanted a career practicing medicine. He grew up locally and graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder with honors and a double degree in Neuroscience and Psychology. After graduating college, Dr. Nick continued his time as a Buff, pursuing his dental degree at the University of Colorado Health Science Center.
He fell in love with dentistry because he enjoys the reward of transforming patients’ smiles, their health and their lives. He earned his postgraduate certificate in Periodontics and Implantology as well as a Masters Degree in Oral Health from the Medical College of Georgia, making him a skilled specialist that any patient can trust.
Dr. Nick is Board Certified in both Periodontics and Dental Implants. He has published research in multiple professional journals. He lectures to dentists across the country on the topics of Periodontal Plastic Surgery, Computer Guided Implant Surgery, Laser Assisted Periodontal Therapy as well as Applications of Biologics in Periodontal Regeneration.
Dr. Nick lives in Littleton, CO with his 3 kids: Michael, Kirstin, and Grayson, and his wife of 13+ years, Nicole. Outside of dentistry his passions are golf, skiing and cooking. You are in great hands with Dr. Nick and his team at Poulos & Somers.
Dr. Marshall graduated with honors from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences. She went on to attend the Colorado School of Dentistry, and completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Washington in Seattle.
She completed her graduate training in Periodontics and Dental Implantology with a Master's Degree from the University of Washington before joining the team at Poulos & Somers. She is the newest member of our team of doctors and a valued associate of the practice.
Dr. Marshall is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Metropolitan Denver Dental Society, and the American Academy of Periodontics. Passionate about the future of dentistry, she is also a part-time Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgical Dentistry at the University of Colorado.

As the backbone of the practice, and with a great sense of humor, Dr. Michael has built a reputation of trust with his patients. Before moving to Denver in 1980, Dr. Poulos received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Biochemistry from Syracuse University. He then went on to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine.
After two years practicing as a General Dentist, he entered Northwestern University where he received his Master of Science in Biomaterials as well as his certificate in Clinical Periodontics and Surgery.
Over the years, he has worked hard to be a leader in his field, lecturing nationally and locally on the practice of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. He also works in conjunction with leading companies in the Dental Implant field, researching new technologies that will continue to improve the dental profession as well as the lives of his patients.
When Dr. Poulos joined his Denver practice in 1980, he became part of the country's oldest and most-respected Periodontal practices. He has been happily serving patients at this practice ever since.
